PEORIA, Ill. -- Central Illinois' future scientists and engineers got a financial boost on Thursday.

AT&T donated $75,000 to the Tri-County Urban League. The money will go to the league's "Tomorrow's Scientists, Technicians, and Managers" program.

Students in the program are exposed to careers in science, technology, engineering and math.

"Our goal is to expose them, they get a degree, and then come back and work in our community," said Urban League President Laraine Bryson. "We have several engineers at Caterpillar that are there because they came though the Urban League."

One of the first things the money will help fund is an upcoming multi-college tour.
