PEORIA, Ill. -- An local auto shop got an unexpected visit from a SUV driver Tuesday morning.

Ironically, the Trac Auto building on Sterling and Forrest was rammed by an SUV with an apparent brake problem. The accident happened around 8 a.m. Tuesday.

An employee said the driver lost control of her vehicle.

Luckily, a worker had stacked several tires in front of the building.

"She hit it hard," said Trac Auto employee James Poole. "I just moved that tire rack out here and that probably saved them from a lot more damage than what happened. If it had been a little further over, she'd been right through that window right there, and that's where our secretary was standing at. It might have took her out."

No injuries were reported.

The Trac Auto sustained considerable damage. The business will be closed until further notice.
