PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria teen is behind bars after being caught with a weapon just days after he participated in the city’s latest Don’t Shoot call-in.

Tovias D. Seiber, 17, appeared in Peoria County Court on Monday where he was charged with being a street gang member in possession of a handgun and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Seiber’s bond was set at $100,000. He is scheduled to appear in court again on November 27.

He is the second alleged gang member to be arrested on weapons charges since the call-in on Wednesday.

Martell Perkins, 17, was arrested hours after the call-in after he allegedly discharged a firearm while riding in a car Wednesday night.
