Ameren expects to restore power to all customers by Tuesday night

Ameren Illinois expects to return power to all affected residents by Tuesday night.

Nearly 1,600 customers remain without power following Monday evening’s severe storms.
 
Ameren officials say crews will work into the night to complete restoration.
 
At the peak of the outage,15,900 customers were without power.
 
“We activated our Emergency Operations Center to focus our attention on restoring power in an efficient and safe manner to those impacted by last night’s severe weather,” said Ronald D. Pate, vice president, Operations and Technical Services. “As we near the end of our restoration efforts and you notice your neighbors have power and you don’t, please report the outage at AmerenIllinois.com or call Customer Service, 1-800-755-5000.”
 
Currently, Ameren Illinois has 740 co-workers and contractors deployed, most of them line crews.
 
If you see low-hanging or downed power lines, assume the lines are energized. Stay clear and call Ameren Illinois at 1-800-755-5000.
