Peoria police investigate an outbreak of shootings

PEORIA, Ill. -- Peoria police are investigating a series of shootings that began Friday night.

The most recent happened just after midnight and it sent a woman to the hospital.

Police responded to 805 West Russell Street on a report of shots fired.

Authorities said a shot was fired at the house and struck a woman. Little information was given on the victim and her condition.

Police do not have any suspects at this time.

About an hour earlier shots erupted in the 2800 block of West Malone Street. A witness told police she saw a male suspect shoot at the vehicle she was in.

The suspect took off running east on Malone.

Police are looking for 26-year-old Eric Griffin in connection to the shooting.

Another shot fired was reported around the same time on South Matthew Street. No one was injured and there are no suspects.
