Arrest made in ISU student shooting

NORMAL, Ill. -- An arrest has been made in the shooting that sent an ISU student to the hospital on Saturday, August 18.

Detectives from the Normal Police Department arrested Marshall D. Smith, 23, of Bloomington. Police believe Smith is connected to the shooting occurred on the 700 block of North Adelaide Street.

The female victim, whose identity was not released, was taken to Advocate Bromenn Medical Center and treated for what appeared to be non life-threatening injuries last week.

Smith is being held on a $1,000,000 bond in the McLean County Jail on charges of Aggravated Battery/Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm near a school building.
