PEORIA HEIGHTS Ill --The streets of Peoria Heights will be filled with color once again this weekend.

It's part of the 2nd annual Chalk the Walk event which is held throughout Tower Park and the Village Hall parking lot.

The event is expected to bring in more than 500 artists, amateur to professional.

They will be creating art, with nothing but chalk, the sidewalk and their imagination.

"That's the great thing about chalk, said organizer," Stephanie Turner. "It goes back to your childhood when you sat on the sidewalk and played with Crayola. This is the same thing but a little bit better quality. You get better color out of it. You don't have to be Van Gogh to sit and play with this. You can make something wonderful and anyone can do it."

The event is free to the public and will run from 10am to 5pm.
