PEORIA Ill -- Police responded to a call at about 3 a.m. of an attempted robbery on the 1900 block of West Malone Street.
Authorities say an armed suspect struck a woman in the head with a gun after demanding to give him all of her belongings.
Police say the woman's boyfriend then intervened, causing a scuffle and the suspect to flee the scene.
The couple suffered minor injuries.
The suspect is described as a six-foot-tall black male, with a slim build and a goatee, dressed in all black.
