EL PASO, Ill. -- Authorities in Woodford County are investigating the shooting death of an El Paso man as a homicide.
Woodford County deputies were called to 538 Fairway Drive in El Paso at 11:15 a.m. Saturday.
Upon arrival they found Terry Punke, 59, in the front yard. He had been shot in the face.
Punke was transported to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria where he died early Wednesday morning.
An autopsy performed on Punke showed the man died from a gunshot wound to his face.
At this time authorities believe Punke was shot by someone else and are investigating the death as a homicide.
