EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- Authorities say that an accident on Muller Road Monday morning could have been worse if it were not for child safety seats.

First responders rushed to the scene of the accident at Muller and Springfield at 10 a.m. this morning.

Police say that a vehicle from the Tazewell County Resource center collided with a car carrying a mother and two small children.

Both children were properly restrained in the vehicle. Minor injuries were reported, and all the occupants were taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
