BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The autopsy for the woman who died after a hit-and-run incident has been completed.
According to the McLean County Coroner Beth Kimmerling, 21-year-old Lauren Leffler’s died as a result of severe head injuries due to being struck by a car.
Toxicology tests have been ordered.
Leffler and a friend were leaving Elroy’s in downtown Bloomington on foot when Leffler was struck by a car driven by 23-year-old Katie Lawson.
Lawson faces multiple charges-- including three felony counts of aggravated DUI and driving on a suspended license.
The circumstances surrounding Lauren’s death remain under investigation by the Bloomington Police Department and McLean County Coroner’s Office.
