PEORIA, Ill. -- Autopsy results show Clarence Hanson, 33, of Peoria died of drowning.

Hanson's vehicle was pulled from the Illinois River on Tuesday. Witnesses reported seeing a white SUV drive off State Street in Peoria and into the river around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

Search and rescue teams were unable to enter the river to retrieve the vehicle due to swift currents and flood debris. On Tuesday, they were able to hook the SUV and remove it from the river. Hanson's body was inside the vehicle.

Toxicology tests have been ordred. Results are expected in two weeks.
