PEORIA, Ill. -- A text message scam aimed at South Side Bank customers is being passed around.
We've received multiple complaints of people receiving a text message similar to this one pictured, saying your south side bank card is inactive.
The message then asks you to call a phone number. If you receive the message, do not respond and delete it.
Remember, never share your bank username or password with anyone.
Reputable companies will never ask for your username or password.
Peoria police say they are aware of the scam and are investigating. They would also like to remind residents that the holidays are a prime time for phone, text and email scams.
So far there has been no financial losses reported to the Peoria Police Department.
If you have suffered a financial loss because of this current scam, please contact the Peoria Police Department at 672-4521.
