BARTONVILLE, Ill.-- Authorities in Bartonville are taking precautions and warning residents with low-lying property to prepare as well.

Bartonville fire trucks spent the weekend cleaning off streets that had flooded late last week.

Route 24 heading south into Bartonville floods regularly when the river level gets too high.

Police Chief Brian Fengel expects the same to happen again Tuesday.

Fengel said, "With the high, record-level that they're talking about, we're just hoping that it doesn't breach any levees. We've got levees that run from Peoria ll the way to Havana that coulod be critical as far as the high water."

Chief Fengel says there is sand-bagging equipment at the police department for any home-owners still preparing for water damage.
