PEORIA, Ill. -- A Bartonville village trustee was indicted Tuesday by a Peoria County Grand Jury on five felony charges including aggravated arson.

Scott Helms, 42, is charged with setting a fire at the Pennsylvania Terrace apartments in Peoria back in July.

Helms was arrested at the time, but released from jail and given a notice to appear in court.

On Tuesday he was indicted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. His bond is set at $75,000.

Bartonville Mayor Rhonda Wolfe told News 25 she was surprised by the indictment because she had been told all charges against Helms had been dropped.
