PEORIA, Ill. -- Many might believe wishes only come true in the movies, but one local organization is breaking that mold, wish by wish.

However, they need your help.

Make-A-Wish Illinois is currently looking for volunteer wish granters to make a difference in the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

A free training session for wish-granting volunteers will be held on Tuesday, March 12 from 5:15 to 7:45 p.m. The location is to be determined, but will be held in the Peoria area. Volunteers bilingual in English and Spanish are especially needed.

Wish-granters are asked to give 10 to 12 hours per month to grant at least three wishes per year.

Potential volunteers must complete the volunteer application and online training in advance and RSVP is required by March 9.

To reserve a spot, contact Eric Stuebs at stuebs@wishes.org.
