Democrat Matt Bartolo was appointed to represent the 18th District after Democratic board member Pat Hidden passed away in May.
Now Hidden's family is endorsing Bartolo's Republican opponent.
Kurt Hidden says his mother collected some 400 signatures from residents wanting to keep Bell-wood at its current location and have it remodeled.
However, the full board has already voted to build a new facility, which Bartolo supports.
So the Hidden family is endorsing Paul Rosenbohm.
"We already own the property. It is accessible for the people to come visit. And it was just one of those common sense issues that we should keep it here," said Rosenbohm.
Bartolo says he's for keeping a new facility at the current address.
Bartolo says remodeling is not an option under state guidelines and says Jack Hidden, Pat's widower, voted as a precinct-committeemen to put him on the county board.
