Benson man charged with drug induced homicide

EUREKA, Ill. -- An 18-year-old Benson man has been indicted on several charges related to the death of his 17-year-old girlfriend.

John Grafelman allegedly gave heroin to Mariah Higgins-Nino which led to her death in November.

Grafelman admitted to police that heroin, hypodermic needles and other various drug paraphernalia found at his residence at 506 Linn St. were his.

He remains in Woodford County Jail on $500,000 bond.
