Bethlehem Experience in Peoria

PEORIA, Ill. -- The United Presbyterian Church put on the Behtlehem Experience Saturday afternoon.

It was a nativity scene like no other.

Children engaged in hands-on activities including making their own dreidels and necklaces.

The entrance fee was two canned goods, which will be donated to the local food pantries.

"It's really fun; it helps us because part of our mission and outreach to the community of sharing the love and grace of god. Both with the fellowship of having fun here and giving to those in need as well serves are mission really well at United Presbyterian Church," said Pastor Stephen McKinney-Whitaker.

Volunteers at the church hope to bring in at least 500 canned goods from the event.
