BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Bloomington's pro basketball team is out of the playoffs and out of its league.

The Bloomington Flex have been suspended by the Premier Basketball League for this year's playoffs and next year's entire season.

The dispute started when the league canceled the first round of the playoffs, and told the Flex that they had to be in Rochester on Sunday for a new playoff game.

But the Flex said they couldn't make it.

They have a prior contract obligation with the US Cellular Coliseum to play on Sunday, and that is when the league kicked them out.

Team president Scott Henderson said he expects the team to play next season.

"In the last 24 hours we've been approached by several different leagues," said Henderson. "Lots of different scenarios could happen. When you're one of the best probably three, four, five teams at this level in the whole country, I think we'll have choices."

The Flex had won the league's first two titles, and had won all of their games this season prior to their suspension.
