Bloomington Police report death at State Farm facility

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- A State Farm employee is dead after falling from the the fourth floor in the building's atrium.

Bloomington Police Public Affairs Officer Sara Mayer said officers responded to 1 State Farm Plaza just before 8:30 a.m. on reports that an unknown subject fell in the atrium.

Thursday afternoon, the McLean County coroner identified the victim as Carrie Butler, 35, of Bloomington. Butler had worked at State Farm for more than 11 years, most recently as a Replacement Services Assistant.

Autopsy results show Butler died of multiple injuries to the head, chest and pelvis due to a fall from heights.

The coroner said early information indicated that witnesses saw Butler intentionally fall from the building's fourth floor.

At this time there is no indication of foul play or criminal involvement.

Toxicology tests have been ordered.
