BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Bloomington Ward 5 Alderman Jennifer McDade has submitted her resignation.

McDade issued a statement citing “personal reasons” for her departure from the city council.

She stated she will stay involved in community affairs but that “stepping down from this role is truly the best decision for me and my family”.

McDade has served on the council since May of 2009, and was re-elected in April 2013.
