BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – It was beginners luck for a Bloomington resident.

Terry Meredith played Lucky Day Lotto for the first time on December 24 and matched all five numbers to win $100,000.

Meredith, a laborer, said the win could not have come at a better time. He said he injured his shoulder recently and is unemployed while he recovers from surgery.

He said he plans to use the money to pay bills and save for a house.

Meredith bought the lucky quick pick ticket at 6 Points Fast Stop, 1001 Six Points Road in Bloomington. The retailer will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
