BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The man who lost the race for Bloomington mayor four years ago by a mere 15 votes is ready to hit the campaign trail again.
Tari Renner hosted an open house Wednesday night to celebrate the grand opening of his campaign headquarters on Main Street in Bloomington.
This may be the first time in Bloomington history a candidate has opened a headquarters. Renner says this facility is key to getting his message out there ahead of the April 9 election.
"It helps us keep visible, and if people want information they can come by, they can stop in, stop in and talk to me," Renner said. "And it also makes us all more productive, volunteers can meet here, it's a place to gather. So I think for all kinds of reasons, having a singular physical location is important."
Renner says the office is open from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, all day Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Renner faces Lex Green and John Hanson in the election.
