BLOOMINGTON, Ill -- Bloomington resident Katie Barker pleaded 'not guilty" Friday to multiple felony charges, including aggravated driving under the influence in an accident that caused injury or death, driving on a suspended license, and failure to report an accident with injury.
Barker was arrested last month, shortly after a hit and run accident which claimed the life a 21-year-old woman, Lauren Leffler of Bloomington.
Leffler and a companion were crossing the street when they were struck down.
Katie Barker, who has a history of traffic arrests and DUI convictions, was appointed a public defender for her trial.
