NORMAL, Ill. – Normal Police have arrested a Bloomington teen in connection with the drunk driving death of Peyton Scheurmann, 18.

Scheurmann was the passenger of a car driven by Garrett Peterson that crashed in the early morning hours of November 10, 2013.

Peterson was arrested a few days after the crash and was charged with aggravated DUI and unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor.

On Thursday, Normal Police arrested Cody Helton, 19. Helton allegedly hosted a party at a home in the 2200 block of W. Oakland Street in Bloomington the night of the crash where he allowed underage drinking.

Peterson and Scheurmann allegedly attended the party before being involved in the single vehicle crash in the 1800 block of Raab Road in Normal. Another passenger was seriously injured in the crash.

Helton now faces charges of providing the alcohol that lead to the fatal crash.
