BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The vacated ward 1 alderman seat has been officially filled.
Former Downtown Bloomington Association President Jamie Mathy was sworn in during Monday night's Bloomington city council meeting.
Bernie Anderson vacated the ward 1 seat last month, citing health concerns.
Mathy is a founder and Chief Technology Officer of Mavidea Technology Group LLC, with offices in downtown Bloomington. He and his wife also own Kelly's Bakery.
Mathy will serve as ward 1 alderman until the April 9th election, in which he is a write-in candidate for the position.
