Bloomington woman admits concealment of mother-in-law's death

BLOOMINGTON, Ill -- A Bloomington woman plead guilty Monday to the concealment of the death of her mother-in-law.

Misook Wang Nowlin of Bloomington had admitted she concealed the death Wenlan Tyda, 70. The elderly woman's body was found buried in a forest preserve.

Misook Wang Nowlin went on trial Monday on those murder charges.

An autopsy indicated Wenlan Tyda had been strangled, but Nowlin says the the older woman was killed in self-defense.

According to the Chicago Sun Times, Misook Wang and her mother-in-law had been arguing over Wang's pending divorce.

Nowlin faces between two and five years in prison for concealment of a death regardless of the jury's verdict on the murder charges.

 

However, Misook Nowlin did not make a plea to the most serious charge she faces, the murdering of Wenlan Tyda.
