PEORIA, Ill. -- St. Louis Blues owner Tom Stillman is speaking out about the decision to end ties with Peoria.

Last month, the Blues sold the AHL Rivermen team to the Vancouver Canucks.

On Tuesday, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that Stillman "feels bad" about selling the Rivermen but was not getting "overwhelming support" from the Peoria market.

Just last week, former Rivermen owner Bruce Saurs and executives John Butler and Bart Rogers announced the formation of a new Rivermen franchise in the Class A Southern Professional Hockey League.

A news conference about the league change is scheduled for Wednesday.
