HANNA CITY, Ill. -- The Peoria County Facility Planning Committee met Saturday to discuss the future of an unused work-camp site in Hanna City.

The work-camp site off Route 116 in Hanna City has not been used for the past five years and County Board officials are looking to change that.

One idea members are still entertaining is to create a food hub there, to aggregate and process local food for Peoria County.

"Communities that have local food movements are able to really control and encourage produce being grown with eggs and livestock," said Mary Ardapple. "The local food movement really enhances the life for a region."

The committee will present its plan for Hanna City at the end of the year.
