Seventy people in Galva, Illinois are looking for a new job.
They worked at the Bob Evans plant in Galva, a business that has been open for 36 years.
However, the sausage processing plant in Henry County is closing.
Company officials say the sluggish economy is the reason behind the shutdown.
Many workers could see the handwriting on the wall, since business had been slow for a while.
"I feel that if they would have talked to us months ago, and said this is the situation, these are our options, maybe we could have took pay cuts or anything to save our jobs," said Laurie Schmidt, a Bob Evans plant employee for 20 years.
Bob Evans is giving workers severance, and some will have the chance to transfer to other facilities within the company.
