BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Authorities say the body found Tuesday in a rural Stanford farm field is that of missing Bloomington woman, Haileigh Eichhorn.
Eichhorn, 26, was last seen by family on April 27. They reported her missing on May 1.
Autopsy results show she was the victim of a fatal assault. Additional tests have been ordered to determine a time of death.
Eichhorn's body was located at 8 p.m. Tuesday by a farmer while he was spraying his field near the intersection of 1100 north and 150 East in rural Stanford, Illinois.
The Coroner's Office along with the Bloomington Police Department will continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.
