Bond set for suspect in Friday shooting

PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man is behind bars in connection with a Friday shooting.

Ramone D. Walker, 31, appeared in Peoria County Court on Wednesday where he was charged with Aggravated Battery and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.

Walker allegedly shot into the back of a vehicle that was driving away from him Friday in the 300 block of Hancock St. in Peoria.

The driver of that vehicle was shot in the shoulder. He was able to drive himself to a local hospital for treatment.

Walker was ordered held on $500,000 bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for December 5.
