MAPLETON, Ill. -- New details have emerged in the murder of a 68-year-old Mapleton man.
According to State's Attorney Jerry Brady, 25-year-old Amanda Payne and two others, Devon Moore, 17, and Zachary Cotter, 16, attempted to rob James Cohee's Lake Camelot home on August 26.
However, Brady says the plan went awry after Payne tried spiking Cohee's drink.
When it did not work, Payne allegedly then had sex with Cohee and shot him in the head after he fell asleep.
Payne, Moore, and Cotter were all charged with first degree murder in Peoria County court on Sunday.
Payne is being held on $1.5 million bond, while bond for Moore and Cotter was set at $1 million each.
