PEORIA, Ill. -- There are several ways to raise money for breast cancer research.

But one group of women knew they only had one option, to give from the heart.

Back in March of last year, a group of survivors got together to chronicle their battle with breast cancer.

The book, called "Pink Survivors," was then sold at Kroger stores to help raise money for the Komen Centre.

More than five-thousand dollars was made.

The authors say the book is just about giving back.

"And that book was somewhat of an attempt to put ourselves out there so that we can do for others, what's been done for us," said breast cancer survivor and co-author Susie Brown.

The Race for the Cure is this Saturday, May 10th.
