BLOOMINGTON, Il. -- Bridgestone America Tires plans an additional investment of $27-million for another expansion of its Bloomington off-the-road tire plant.
Most of the investment will go toward new machinery for the production of giant loader tires
The expansion will create approximately 47 new jobs.
In April, the company announced a nearly $20-million investment in the plant to increase production of tires used in heavy industry, which is expected to be completed in mid-2013.
The company says that will result in at least 40 new jobs.
The Bridgestone plant in Bloomington employs 420 workers.
