NORMAL, IL -- Bridgestone America Tires will cut 23 positions at its Twin Cities plant.
A company spokesperson tells the Pantagraph, that the continued slowdown in residential and commercial construction and mining has meant lower demand for off road tires.
The company did not provide a date for when jobs would be cut.
It is unknown if the job losses would affect two major expansions, announced in December, for the Normal plant.
The company said nearly $47 million dollars in additional equipment and floor space would add 80 more employees to the facility by July 2014.
