EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- Some East Peoria students will soon have a new learning environment.
A ground breaking ceremony was held Monday at Central Junior High in East Peoria to celebrate the second and last phase of an expansion project.
Superintendent Tony Ingold said a total of 42 classrooms will be built during this phase.
"Right now with the completion of this project, this will finish the junior high," Ingold said. "In essence, we'll have a brand new junior high. Probably what we'll be looking at next is taking a look at the rest of our facilities."
The project still has about a year and half before it is done.
