PEORIA, Ill. -- For some people, it is their favorite time of year. The Girl Scout cookies are here.

The first truck load of cookies arrived in Peoria Thursday morning. It included more than 3,000 cases of deliciousness and yes…thin mints.

But leaders said it is more than just a cookie sale.

"It's a cookie program where the girls learn five skills. The five skills are decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics. It's all rolled into them gaining skills in leadership,” said Molly Wilson, Girl Scouts Communication Team Manager.

National Girl Scout Cookie weekend is February 7 and February 8. To find a cookie booth near you click on the link above.
