PEORIA, Ill. -- For the past five years, Liv Warfield has been a back up singer for Prince.

Now she has her own album and is in the Peoria area to promote it. The trip is special because Warfield is a Peoria native. In fact, she is a graduate of Peoria Notre Dame High School.

On Thursday, she went back to her alma mater not only to sing but to inspire students to chase their dreams.

"Sometimes I'm like 'Oh, we just live in Peoria,' but you can still do whatever you want to do and you can make yourself successful and that's cool that she was able to do that with her music career. That's awesome,” said Junior Andrew Harlan.

Warfield will be performing on Friday at the Limelight Event-Plex in Peoria. For ticket information, visit www.limelighteventplex.com.
