EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- Just in time for the Fourth of July, The Burger Barge along the river in East Peoria is cleaned up and back open.

General Manager Jeniffer Adams said The Barge would have a bigger celebration if it had not been forced into repairs over the last week.

The restaurant was flooded by a faulty water line, which was found by a city worker.

"It was such a relief to know that it was something that we could control, because you can't control mother nature, but it was such a relief. Everybody was so happy, even though we had all of the repairs ahead of us, everybody was so happy when we knew what it was," said General Manager, Jeniffer Adams.

Customers were inside as soon as the restaurant opened Wednesday night.

A second Burger Barge location is expected to open on Meadow Avenue in East Peoria this summer.
