Burglary suspect captured by Peoria police

PEORIA, Ill. -- A man suspected of a rash of Peoria area burglaries has been taken into custody.

Peoria authorities say they responded to the 3000 block of University while a burglary was in progress.

The suspect, later identified as Brian Lamb, fled the residence. He was later captured by police, who saw him fleeing from the area of West Wilcox after another burglary.

Lamb was brought to the Peoria Police Department and questioned. Police say he admitted to committing seven burglaries throughout the area of the Wardcliffe Sub-division and in the area of Sherwood, Hudson and Forrest Hill Ave.

Lamb was sent to the Peoria County Jail on six counts of Residential Burglary and one count of Attempted Residential Burglary.
