EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- Half a dozen people are uninjured tonight after a charter coach bus caught fire in East Peoria this morning, according to our partners at News Radio 1470.
The incident occurred around 6:20 am. Authorities say once the bus caught fire, the driver brought it to a stop on the I-74 westbound ramp, off of Main Street in East Peoria.
They say firefighters arrived to find the bus largely engulfed in flames. They were able to bring the fire under control quickly, but add the bus spilled a large amount of oil onto the roadway.
Crews worked throughout the morning cleaning the oil. Traffic in the area is now flowing smoothly.
