LITCHFIELD, Ill. -- One is dead and 32 injured after a double-decker charter bus crashed into a bridge support on I-55 near Litchfield.
Emergency crews arrived on the scene to find a Mega Bus had crashed into a concrete pillar supporting an overpass, resulting in the closure of both and southbound lanes of Interstate 55.
NBC Chicago reports the bus lost control after it blew a tire.
Illinois State Police say at least 18 ambulances and three Medivac helicopters were called to the scene.
