PEORIA, Ill. -- U.S. Representative Cheri Bustos spoke at the re-dedication of the park.

The congresswoman just returned from a trip to Afghanistan where she met with United States and Afghan military.

Bustos says the U-S still has 32-thousand troops in Afghanistan.

She says the withdrawal of troops will continue, but adds safety for Afghan families is important.

"We're leaving behind a country that, especially the women and the girls who have been so mistreated and abused over such a long period of time, and there families are living in a country that is a much better place than when we got there," said Bustos.

Bustos says she'll stay informed for a series of future votes, regarding funding of the U-S presence in Afghanistan.
