PEORIA, Ill. -- The Caterpillar foundation will no longer invest in the Boy Scouts of America because it's recent decision to allow gay scouts didn't go far enough.

In a statement, Caterpillar says it supports the organization's recent decision to end the ban on openly gay scouts.

However, Cat says openly gay adult leaders are still banned and that does not align with its policies on discrimination against sexual minorities.

The local W-D-Boyce chapter has not received money from Cat since 2011, but says it appreciates everything the company has done for scouting throughout its history.
