Technology has its benefits, but if used too much it can create an addiction and harm our relationships and well-being.
Psychotherapist Doctor Joy Miller says technology can have the same control as a drug or alcohol addiction. She says what is supposed to help us communicate is actually hurting it and many people have become engulfed in a digital world.
"I think that many people are extremely numb to how hooked in they are to technology. In fact, many people think we're kind of in servitude to our technology," said Dr. Miller.
Doctor Joy says there are many benefits to cutting back, becoming aware of your usage and the hold technology can have on your life.
So we are putting two willing participants to the test in a week-long digital detox. Be sure to tune in to News 25/HOI-19 News Monday to meet them and find out if they can make it during a week without technology.
