'Cans Film Festival' to benefit Tree of Lights campaign

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Forget about the Cannes Film Festival...this one is closer and benefits the Salvation Army.

On December 1, Wehrenberg Theatres Galaxy 14 Cine in Bloomington is encouraging movie-goers to bring in canned food donations in exchange for free movie admission. 

Guests may bring in 5 canned food items and receive a ticket for any movie before 5 p.m.  Additionally, guests who bring in ten cans or more per person will receive a free movie pass for a future visit.

Last year, the Cans Film Festival stockpiled over 335,000 canned food items during the one-day event. Organizers say  they hope to top that record this year.
