PEORIA, Ill. -- Workers at Main Street's One World Cafe say the restaurant will remain open Friday -- even after a car veered off the road and crashed into the building around 12:35 a.m. Friday.

The driver, 31-year-old Wendy Williams, told police that she was attempting to make a left turn from Main Street onto N. University Street when she lost control of her vehicle, causing it to collide into the restaurant.

She refused medical treatment, but a 37-year-old male passenger was taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

Williams was arrested on DUI, and Driving Too Fast for Conditions/Failing to Reduce Speed.

One World employees say inspectors were on scene and gave the OK to open the restaurant as normal.
