EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- According to IDOT, only three of every five car seats are being used correctly, and that mistake is why car crashes are the leading cause of death among children in the U.S.

This Saturday, more than 80 car seat checking events will be held statewide, with certified technicians on hand to install and check your child's car seat.

In central Illinois, the Children's Hospital of Illinois will be hosting an event at the Kohl's East Peoria Store from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Advocate BroMenn Medical Center will conduct their check at the hospital's Parking Lot C in Normal.
